IRC-Ege Personnel

Three full time personnel have been employed by the project. In addition, some of the existing personnel from the Consortium partners have allocated part of their time to IRC activities:

Management

Professor Fazilet VARDAR SUKAN is the Coordinator. She is a chemical engineer with a Ph.D. degree in biochemical engineering from University College London, UK (1981) with considerable teaching and research experience at Ege University. She's had over 90 publications in scale-up, mass and momentum transfer in bioreactors and re-utilization of agro-industrial wastes. She has been the director of EBILTEM since 1998.

She is also the current head of the bioengineering department at Ege University, and amongst other committees and activities she is the national delegate for the FP6 Science and Society Thematic Area and Regional Contact Point for FP6 within the Turkish NCP Network.

Professor R.Cengiz AKDENIZ is the Assistant Coordinator. He is an agricultural engineer with a Ph.D. degree from Ege University, Department of Agricultural Machinery with extensive teaching and research experience. He has been the deputy director of EBILTEM for the last 5 years and is a board member of “CIGR-International Commission of Agricultural Engineering Section IV: Rural Electricity and Other Energy Sources”.

Administrative Board

Kamil Porsuk and Enver Olgunsoy, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry representative; Hilmi Ugurtas, Izmir Ataturk Organised Industrial Region representative; Mustafa Çanakçi, KOSGEB representative.

M. Serdal Temel is graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Economics department and finished his masters in Money and Banking field. He is currently working as an expert in Industrial Relations with EBILTEM and working on his Phd.

Emel SOKULLU URKAC; is graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Physics Engineering department and finished his masters in Materials Science and Engineering field. She is currently working as an expert in Industrial Relations Department in EBILTEM and going on her Phd in Ege University, Bioengineering Department.

Tayfun Yılmaz; is a food engineer who graduated from Istanbul Technical University. He did sales and marketing in food industry first. In the last 4 years, he worked in projects to prepare general and sectorial Turkey reports to be published, first, in some of the major newspapers of the World (New York Times and The Daily Telegraph etc.), then, international sectorial magazines (Chemical News, Food News etc.) and coordinated the relations between Turkish industries and international media.

Elif Kayran; She started to work at the Industrial Performance Department of Nestle İstanbul Factory after graduating from Middle East Technical University, Food Engineering Department in 1999. In addition to production and materials planning, she leaded efficiency monitoring and improvement studies at the factory and took part in the preparation of operation plans that are of crucial importance for long term investment decisions. She continued her career as ‘English Language Trainer’ in İzmir at CELL Dil Training Center where she she realized tailored trainings mainly for the senior executives and white collar staff of various companies and institutions.

Part-Time staff

Ozlem YESIL CELIKTAS is a Chemical Engineer from Ankara University, with an M.Sc from Chalmers Technical University in Sweden. With international experience in Munich and Stockholm she has six years of industrial experience in manufacturing excellence. She is currently working at EBILTEM.

M. Soner CELIKTAS is a mechanical Engineer who graduated from Yildiz Technical University with seven years of experience as a process development engineer in ceramics and automotive sectors. He is currently working as an expert in Industrial Relations with EBILTEM.

Time Dedicated to IRC: 60%, IRC Staff

S. Sevkan SOYUER is a Chemical Engineer who graduated from the Gazi University, Faculty of Engineering-Architecture. She has a M.Sc. Degree from the Gazi University in soil polution and has 12 years of experience at Turkish Fertilizer Industry Co. Inc. in Ankara at the General Directorate as the Chairwoman of Research-Planning and Coordination and Research and Feasibility Management. At present, she is responsible for the EU FP6 Coordination Office at EBILTEM.(2002-2004).

Necati GÜNAYDINis chemical engineer who graduated from Middle East Technical University specialising in Process Control. He has three-year's experience in KOSGEB(Directorship for the Development and Support of SME)

Time Dedicated to IRC: 20%, IRC Assistant

Levent ARSLAN is a chemical engineer who graduated from Ege University, specialising in the field of Sustainable Development and Cleaner Production. He has been working as a specialist in the KOSGEB Ege University Technology Development Centre for two years.

Time Dedicated to IRC: 20%, IRC Assistant

Dr. Cavit KAHYA is an agricultural engineer graduate from the Ege University with a Ph.D. in agricultural economics. He is now working in Izmir Ataturk Organized Industrial Zone (IAOSB) as assistant to the general manager.

Time Dedicated to IRC: 30%, IRC Assistant
